Stent Implantation for Dogs and Cats with Laryngeal Paralysis

Updated: Jul 29

We are grateful for the images and the video to the Dr. Cartagena Albertus

The ABTVet silicone stent implantation for dogs and cats is an innovative technique designed to improve respiratory function in patients with laryngeal pathologies.

This method, which is performed quickly and safely, offers an effective and less invasive alternative to other surgical treatments.

Here are 10 simple steps on how to do it.

1. Open the peel pouch.

2. Removing the ABTVet silicone stent.

8. If necessary, correct the position as many times as required.

- Unlike Nitinol stents, silicone stents do not damage the laryngeal wall when removed for repositioning.

9.Perform another visual inspection until the professional determines that it is in the right place.

10. End of intervention.

And most importantly, Antonio's testimony.

Good morning, I would like to thank you for your enormous help in such a necessary moment for me and my pet. Lucas is the best friend of a 67-year-old man, which is what I am, and I can't thank you enough for allowing me to continue enjoying his company. Thanks for this miracle of prosthesis, and thanks to Dr. Albertus Cartagenas for his professionalism and sensitivity in treating these pathologies.
